UP Board of Regents approved the resolution creating the Systemwide Network on Archipelagic and Ocean Studies during its 1123rd meeting. The UP Archipelagic and Ocean Studies Committee was created with the UP Vice President for Planning and Development, Prof. Fortunato de la Peņa as chair.

31 AUGUST 1998

Working Group Meeting on the Vision of the UP Archipelagic and Ocean Studies Network presented by UP President Emil Q. Javier at the UP Institute of Small Scale Industries.

1 OCTOBER 1998

Appointment of members of the Executive Committee of the Systemwide Network on Archipelagic and Ocean Studies. These include: Prof. Ma. Cynthia Rose B.
